Haider Shaker, 30, is transfered out of the Al Kindy Hospital suffering serious injuries to his neck and loss of his left ear in Baghdad, Iraq on Aug. 20, 2003. He was injured the day prior, while working at the UN base inside the Canal Hotel where a cement truck packed with explosives detonated outside the offices killing 20 people and devastating the facility. This was an unprecedented suicide attack against the world body with at least 100 people wounded.
