Phiona Mutesi, a 14-year-old chess prodigy, keeps a record of moves during a chess match, in Kampala, Uganda, Dec. 11, 2010. Mutesi lives in the slums of Uganda and is just now learning to read. But her instincts have made her a player to watch in international chess. Mutesi, a naturally talented chess player is coached by Robert Katende of Sports Outreach Ministry. The chess club meets at the Agape Church inside Katwe, the largest slum in Kampala.
